Synchronicity and Patience

Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with a benign meningioma behind my left eye. It is operable and I feel generally well. Now the waiting starts. I will see a neurosurgeon on July 8th and hope a plan will be made then. It took about 10 days to get the appointment with the neurosurgeon, so already my diagnosis is teaching me things – this time it’s patience. And just in case I did not get the message, my friend Carole Ann Drick sent me a poem written by Jen Reich that brought the message home:

She felt her shoulders tighten

So she opened her arms wide

Exposing the heart chakra

And all the love inside.

She did a little happy dance

To affirm that all was great

And trusted the unfolding

In the times she had to wait.

So I will continue doing the happy dance and wait for the unfolding of this turn of events in my life. Meanwhile I will be looking for synchronicity. For example, Jen’s poem about patience came right when I was getting impatient about getting a neurosurgeon appointment. That didn’t seem like a coincidence to me – it seemed like I was being sent exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. That’s synchronicity.
